We visited the First Bible Baptist ADP church in Blue Springs. This church is about 10 minutes from our house and very convenient. We visited twice, two weeks in a row.
Everyone was friendly when we walked in the door. Very vibrant older gentlemen and couple ladies greeted us. One handed us a brochure and asked us to fill out the info. The brochure also included a gift card for a local coffee shop.
They did not have a bulletin. I found this a little unfortunate because their website needs some work. It is a bit outdated. The music was good, very up to date.
The first time we visited started with a building update. It was enlightening. Let me tell you a little bit about this church first. They have a huge sports ministry. They own ball fields behind the church and they have various sports leagues going all year long. The pastor and associate pastor are both form Baltimore Orioles. The sports thing makes more sense when you know that. However, I can see how they can minister to a whole bunch of people in the community by having this as a part of the church.
Their building updated included specifics on their plans to change their foyer into a coffee bar and relaxed meeting place with patio. They are spot on in having a comfortable place for meetings or groups to gather. Very modernized, I believe.
After the update, the pastor did a shortened sermon that we both enjoyed. Our second time there was a similar experience with friendly people. The youth pastor preached and he was ok. A bit too much singing in his sermon, but eh, it was ok.
Their website does talk about beliefs and gives us a good idea who they are. They also don't shy away from truth. It was definitely a church we could see ourselves be a part of in the future.
